You should check the condition of your tires' treads.
     The minimum acceptable tread depth is 3/32 inch. This is about the distance from the edge of a penny to the top of Abe's head. But, if you are leaving on a trip, you wouldn't want the minimum tread.
     
While you're looking at the tire tread, keep an eye out for an uneven wear pattern. (Uneven) means the tire is more worn on one edge. This usually means you need a wheel alignment. Also, run your fingers along the tread and feel for lumps. The presence of lumps could mean that the tire is not balanced correctly.

High performance mufflers reduce the amount of back pressure in the exhaust system allowing the engine to work more efficiently. CV Joint Failure Constant velocity joints (CV joints) are found on many cars and even some trucks. Though vehicle manufacturers are reintroducing rear-wheel drive on more new cars, over 80 percent of all the cars on the road today are front-wheel-drive, and every one has four CV joints. The outer CV joints are usually the ones that most often need to be replaced. There are two reasons, one is that the outer CV joints wear more than the inner CV joints, The outer boots on the outer joints are more apt to fail than the ones on the inner joints. CV Joint boot failure is bad news for any CV joint because it dooms the joint to premature failure. A spit, cracked loose or torn boot will throw grease, draining the joint of its vital fluids = lubricants. Sooner or later the joint will run out of Lubricant, which is a bad thing for the metal-to-metal surfaces. They must withstand height pressure loads and constant friction. A boot that doesn’t seal can also allow outside contaminants, such as road splash and dirt, to enter the joint and havoc havoc on its precision machined and polished surfaces. If the boot problem isn’t discovered almost immediately, joint failure will usually follow within a few thousand miles.

Some symptoms of CV Joint failure:

1) Popping or clicking noises when turning.2) A clunk sound when accelerating, decelerating or when putting the car into drive.3) A vibration or shudder when accelerating. 4) A growling or humming noise.

Hello,  We hope your doing well 

     We would like to address Preparing your vehicle for and emergencies  and keeping emergency supplies in your car or truck is smart planning.  Not just for disasters, but also in case your have to hunker down off the beaten path or in your home. 

If you get a flat tire on the road or mountain pass and you are stuck there overnight,  you'll be really happy that you packed a kit.  Just a small list to get started.
    1) Food- snack bars, at least 3 a day.
        Water or  better yet a water straw.  (1 Gal. pp per day)
          Medicine, pet food
          Photo's, Games, Whistle, Cash, Matches, 
   2) Flash Light, Extra batteries, back up cell phone battery,  Emergency blanket,  Paper Map, Garbage bags, Rain gear, Toilet Paper, and Don't forget the Duct Tape. 
    3)  Fix a flat, Chains, Cat litter, Small shovel, Jumper cables, tow chain, Tarp (for shelter or to lay on),  Flairs...

Consider where your daily drive / route takes you & what you might need. 
Keep supplies fresh by using them once or twice a year at your kids events or washing the car or on a hike.  Have supplies ready to replace them.

2) Stop slow, Start slow & steady.
